Construction update – wetlands and trails

We’re excited to provide the first Aberdeen construction update.

The earthworks for the 5-acre wetlands are progressing well, you can now see the shape forming of future tracks and trails as well as all of the individual detention basins. This impressive reserve, comparable in size to the MCG playing surface, will play a crucial role in water quality and detention. Excavated materials from the wetlands are being transported north to our future Horman Park.

In the coming week, we’ll begin internal sewer work across the estate, which will last several weeks and be followed by drainage installation. You’ll notice local contractors, Madica Civil Construction, working along the Glenelg Highway between the Aberdeen site and the Innsbruck Road roundabout to connect our estate’s sewer system to the existing network. This phase of work is expected to take 6–8 weeks.

Additionally, local contractors Wayne Horne Earthmoving will start work on the main entry to the estate, which will include drainage, telecommunications, and new road construction. Please exercise caution while traveling along the Glenelg Highway, as we will keep traffic flowing during this time.

Thank you for your patience and support as we move forward with these important developments and stay tuned for the next construction update.
