The Aberdeen Team are thrilled to share with you that site establishment activities at Aberdeen Ballarat are off to a great start. The first stage of tree removal work has been completed with all useable parts of the trees turned into mulch on-site. This mulch will be used throughout the estate for preparing garden beds and planting trees.
Here’s a snapshot of what else is happening on site:
Topsoil stripping and initial earthworks
The early stages of the project have seen the stripping of topsoil and the initiation of preliminary earthworks. These foundational steps are crucial as we prepare the site for the next phases of development.
Major earthworks on the horizon
Get ready for some impressive machinery on site. Major earthworks are set to kick off later in September. This phase will see extensive large machinery working diligently to lay the groundwork for key infrastructure that will shape the future of Aberdeen.
Infrastructure development
The upcoming major earthworks will pave the way for several critical infrastructure elements.
Wetland Creation
A key feature of our development, this wetland will enhance the natural landscape and support local biodiversity. Future introduction of almost 30,000 plants and over 100 trees to this wetland as well as a 1km walking track, rest stops, look outs and manicured entrance features will be a special asset so early on in the project.
Entrance Road
A new entrance road will connect Aberdeen Ballarat to the Glenelg Highway, improving accessibility and convenience.
Sewer Pump Station
This essential infrastructure will support the sewer needs of the estate and neighbouring homes.
Next steps
Stormwater Drainage and Sewer Infrastructure
Following the completion of the major earthworks, attention will turn to installing stormwater drainage and sewer infrastructure. These installations are vital for servicing future homes and ensuring Aberdeen Ballarat is equipped with the necessary utilities for a smooth transition to residential use.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make strides in bringing Aberdeen Ballarat to life.
