Welcome to Construction Update 3!
There has been a lot of action on site over the past two months here at Aberdeen Ballarat. Construction has begun on the new entrance to the estate. For those who regularly travel along the Glenelg Highway, please expect increased activity in the area over the next three months as we work on this project.
We kindly ask that you be mindful of the team on site and adhere to the 40 km/h speed limit while passing through.
New Entry Works Underway
Other ongoing works include:
- The continuation of wetland development, with drainage work and the construction of the main trunk drain being carried out by Wayne Horne Earthmoving.
- Madica is progressing with the rising main works, linking the sewer from the pump station to the existing network along The Glenelg Highway.
- Construction of the Magnum Stone Wall and ongoing rock armoring around the wetland’s edge.
- Topsoil placement is underway in the wetland, with 200mm of high-quality soil being applied to promote healthy plant growth, which will contribute to water filtration in the long term.
- Bulk earthworks are in progress, including land filling and using site clay to achieve the desired surface level.
- In the coming months, we will continue working on the estate entrance, which is expected to be continued through to May.
- The Integra landscaping team is on site, installing hard landscaping features like gabion walls and footpaths.
- As the weather improves, they will also begin planting trees and shrubs around the wetland.
- Next week, we’ll start pavement construction. The first step is the capping layer, one of four layers that make up the road pavement, which will be placed over the next few weeks.
